Zion & Bryce, with room to breathe

Six days from arrival to departure, with two full Zion days and a full Bryce day. Treat the transfer as part of the trip.

Use this trip →

Gateways: Las Vegas round trip; Springdale and Bryce Canyon City / Tropic overnight bases.

Seasonal planning: Spring and autumn can balance desert heat with colder Bryce conditions. Snow, summer heat, tunnel rules and dated shuttle schedules control the final plan.

6 days from arrival to departure · 5 nights. Arrival and transfer days are included in the schedule below. Reviewed 2026-10-18.

Travel ranges are editorial estimates before major delays. Confirm the route between your actual overnight addresses. Airport transfers need rental return and airline check-in buffers.

Numbered stops match your list. Overview locations are not entrances; select access points below. No driving route is drawn.

From arrival to departure.

  1. Day 1. Arrive and settle in Springdale

    Overnight / destination: Springdale

Travel: Las Vegas airport → Springdale: allow 3–4 hours driving, plus rental pickup and stops; time-zone change applies.

Buy groceries, check the shuttle schedule and settle in. A late flight means an airport-area night, not a rushed canyon visit.

  2. Day 2. Zion Canyon day

    Overnight / destination: Springdale

Travel: Use the canyon shuttle when operating; allow travel and queue time.

Follow the one-day Zion field guide: Riverside Walk, a lunch break and a bounded Pa’rus outing.

  3. Day 3. Zion east-side day

    Overnight / destination: Springdale

Travel: Allow 1–2 hours of local driving before stops.

Use the east-side field-guide day. Replace Canyon Overlook with legal scenic pullouts if parking or footing is unsuitable.

  4. Day 4. Transfer to Bryce

Overnight / destination: Bryce Canyon City / Tropic

Travel: Springdale → Bryce Canyon City via open roads: allow 2–3 hours driving before stops.

Check tunnel restrictions before choosing the route. Settle in, then make one short amphitheater viewpoint visit if daylight allows.

  5. Day 5. Bryce Amphitheater

Overnight / destination: Bryce Canyon City / Tropic

Travel: Local driving or seasonal Bryce shuttle; allow queues.

Choose Sunrise and Sunset Point and a short rim section. A below-rim trail is a separate fitness- and condition-dependent choice; snow and ice can make it unsuitable.

  6. Day 6. Departure day

Overnight / destination: Las Vegas / home

Travel: Bryce Canyon City → Las Vegas airport: allow 4–5 hours driving, plus rental return, stops and the airline’s airport buffer.

For an early flight, return to Las Vegas the previous evening. Do not add a Zion shuttle visit on the way to the airport.

Have fewer days?

With four days, choose one park or remove the second Zion day and use a late departure; preserve the transfer and airport buffers.
